Andrew has been involved in athletics and fitness for most of his life. He chose to play competitive volleyball in high school, and went on to play varsity level at university (and was a member of several national championship volleyball teams).  In his late teens, he started to play beach volleyball and played at the Open (professional) level for almost 20 years (including the US Pro Beach Tour from 1997 – 2003).

After sustaining numerous volleyball-related joint injuries to both his shoulders and knees (all requiring surgery), Andrew decided to make a significant change in approach to his chosen sport – and the fitness level required to compete. He learned that no matter what the level of the individual, optimizing functional movement was the foundation and key to superior physical fitness and performance.

In 2002, He attained his trainer certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He further attained the advanced NASM strength and conditioning designations of Corrective Exercise Specialist (rehabilitation) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (athlete performance development).

Since his entry into the fitness industry, Andrew has trained a vast cross-section of clients:

  • Elementary, high school, university and college varsity athletes

About Me:
I started exercising in 2010 and became a trainer in 2015. Since then, I have helped many people achieve their fitness goals. I’ve trained brides for their weddings and mothers through pregnancy. I’ve helped young ladies feel confident in their prom dresses and men fit into their old suits. I also managed a team of 12 Personal Trainers, and taught hundreds of new trainers in the GTA how to excel at their role.
Fitness Philosophy/Mantra:
My mantra is “Stronger than yesterday.” Exercise isn’t about destroying your body as much as possible; it’s about getting one step ahead each day. No matter your level of fitness, you can always take one step forward. The same goes for your lifestyle habits. It’s about making small changes and sticking to them in order to achieve the grand results down the road.
I also believe in practicing what you preach. I’ve had two personal trainers that have transformed me into a stronger, more mobile, and athletic person. My trainers trained me in weightlifting, gymnastics, calisthenics, and mobility. More than that, they held me accountable to my workouts and pushed me to become the strongest version of myself each day. I would not be close to the same person I am today without my trainers, which is why I am so passionate about Personal Training.
I strongly believe in consistency. I have a plan for each of my clients, workouts written out, and I track your progress every workout. The workouts are not easy, but as long as you do your best you will see results and have fun along the way!

I attended Bryan College for Health Science and Personal Training, where I received my PT Specialist certificate. I instruct fitness classes such as aqua fit, high/low intensity interval training, and group circuit training as well as my one-on-one personal training. I specialize in weight management and muscle toning. When I’m not working, I like to compete in CPA bodybuilding shows, in the bikini category.
