About Me: 

I am currently finishing my Honors Specialization in Kinesiology at Western University and am a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT). It has always been very important to me to expand my knowledge beyond the classroom, and as a result, I have taken a variety of continuing education courses in exercise programming, movement technique, kinesiology taping and active release techniques to ensure that I am thoroughly prepared to work with all demographics.

Beyond personal training and continuing education, I am a very active person. Growing up, I participated in all types of sports but ended up specializing in soccer. However, my sporting career ended when I tore my ACL twice and had to undergo numerous knee surgeries. Luckily, I found the sport of triathlon and am currently training to compete this coming summer! When I am not training, I enjoy reading, watching movies, hiking, going boating and BBQs with friends and family!

Fitness Philosophy/Mantra:

To be an effective personal trainer, I believe that one needs to take the whole individual into consideration and meet them where they are at. That way, we can improve movement patterns, posture, strength, and body composition with the intent of meeting your goals and encourage lifelong activity. I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with a variety of clientele who helped me become confident in my ability to create personalized workout programs that suit you while focusing on functional movements and strength training.

Personally, I have found that the most effective way of starting a training program is through an evaluation phase, where the client undergoes a variety of tests certified by CSEP to establish a starting point. From there, we work together to define your goals and develop a plan to help you achieve them. As a result, none of my client’s programs looks the same because we are all different, and as such, the way we train should reflect that. It is also very important to me to have open communication between myself and the client because a workout regime does not work unless there is engagement. As such, we need to be able to adapt the plan at any time to meet your life’s needs.

Working with me involves both short-term as well as long-term planning to track progress to not only help you stay motivated but to hopefully demonstrate the benefits of fitness and strength in not only performance but in everyday life. I have seen first-hand the confidence and self-awareness that is gained from physical activity, and it is my mission to help you experience that too.
